To replace the battery in a fifth-generation iPod Video:
1. Open the iPod according to the instructions provided by iDoctor staff:
2. Disconnect the battery by lifting up the brown clip to release the ribbon cable (see Step 1).
3. Lift hard drive out of the iPod (see Step 2).
4. Locate the audio jack (attached to a ribbon cable). Gently lift the brown clip to release the cable, and then disconnect it (see Step 3).
5. Locate the battery fixed to the back panel of the iPod, remove it (see Step 4). A mild adhesive holds it in place.
6. Insert the new battery into the iPod (see Step 5).
8. Connect the audio jack back in to the logic board (see Step 6).
9. Connect the new battery by sliding the loose end of the ribbon cable down into the brown clip (see Step 7). Remember to push the clip back down.
10. Put the iPod back together.
